RED DOOR YAY!
I went to cambridge yesterday and with my auntie wendy along for protection from the scary 'little blonde girl' who showed us around (!) we viewed that house I told you about. We arrived a little early for the viewing so took a stroll around the neighbourhood - which is a thousand times prettier and safer than where we live now! A few houses and a road crossing down from us is a walkway beside a really truly BROOK! (hence why it's called 'Brookfields'! and another walkway takes you into woodland and LAKES!! We tried out the pub on the corner. Clean, and non-sleazy! And then went back for the viewing. Already I felt that I could take the house purely on it's location. We examined the door and it turns out to be a deep rusty red!! (not pillar box, but definitely not green!) It has a bay window in the front and a small yard at the back. As soon as I walked through the door, and saw the wooden floors and fireplaces and the size and general 'done-ness' of the place I said to the estate agent, 'I don't think I even need to see upstairs!" It was just PERFECT! It felt warm and welcoming, quaint and bookish! The bathroom (usually a yick factor in an old house) is big and clean and has a bath! Both rooms upstairs have an ornamental fire place (not working alas, but as aunty wendy reminded me - I would have to clean them!). It's even on the same road as St Barnabas - the church we wanted to check out in cambridge! And is perfectly positioned near town, the station and addenbrookes hospital (quite a feat!)
I'm so glad it wasn't an 'iffy' viewing. Those are always hard to call. But we still trust God to direct us, and I know that if this falls through he's got something even BETTER for us! WOW what an awesome God!
Auntie wends and I celebrated afterwards since she had just found out their house (which they're buying) had successfully 'transacted' and they move in on friday!
Can't WAIT til we move in mid January!
